Voting Escrow CVE (veCVE)
Voting Escrow CVE (veCVE) is Curvance's governance token mechanism, allowing users to lock their CVE tokens to participate in governance and earn protocol fees.
The veCVE system is designed with several innovative features:
Fixed 1-Year Lock Duration: Unlike variable lock systems, veCVE standardizes on a single one-year duration to simplify cross-chain implementation and provide consistent rewards.
Points-Based System: Instead of directly using token balances, veCVE uses a points system that automatically adjusts voting power and reward weight without requiring manual kicks or updates.
Continuous Lock Mode: Users can opt into continuous lock mode, gaining a 2x multiplier on points while eliminating the need to periodically relock tokens.
Cross-Chain Capability: Locks can be migrated between chains, allowing users to move their governance positions without losing their commitment.
Early Exit Option: Locks can be terminated early with a significant penalty that gets directed to the DAO treasury.
Lock Consolidation: Multiple locks can be combined into a single position for improved management and gas efficiency.
